Welcome to the Urbana Landmark Hotel. It is our mission to make this unique historic hotel a home away from home for all our guests.
The Urbana Landmark Hotel & Convention Center, formerly known as The Urbana-Lincoln Hotel, was designed by the famous architect, Joseph Royer, and built in 1923 by a group of prominent local citizens dedicated to attracting travelers to downtown Urbana. Their aim was to turn the city of Urbana into the center of culture and entertainment in central Illinois.
“The Urbana-Lincoln Hotel is a community enterprise. The hotel in the first place was not an investment but meant to be a monument to the community and its betterment.” –Alvin Burrows, Urbana Daily Courier Publisher and President of the Hotel Association at the hotel’s dedication in February, 1924
During most of its past 90 years of service to guests from all over the world, the Urbana Landmark Hotel has gained a reputation as the hotel for the rich and famous.
In November 2010, Mr. Xiao Jin Yuan, a California hotel owner with a passion for the preservation of unique European style buildings, purchased the hotel and joined hands with the city of Urbana to have this historic hotel designated as a local landmark. On December 1, 2012, after 2 years of renovation, the Urbana Landmark Hotel opened its doors again. We welcome you to experience the comfort, history and character of this place.
